Causes of Stress
Stress can be helpful at times, but when it is present
for a prolonged amount of time, it starts becoming unhealthy.
Here are some common examples of where stress can manifest.

Relationships
There are many different kinds of stress that we face in our daily lives. Many involving relationships and a heavy workload. Relationships are not limited to only to those who have significant others.
Stress from relationships can occur from families circumstances, arguments with friends, unhappy relations with co-workers, or even losing a loved one to name a few.
Workload & Deadlines
Projects, deadlines, and exams can also have the ability to take a toll on someone. As there are target dates for these assignments and plans, a person is expected to complete it by the deadline, which adds on pressure.
Working long hours as well as sacrificing sleep in order to complete these tasks also strains a person physically and mentally.

Fear & Uncertainty
As social media is becoming a larger part of society, when a person regularly hears about the threat of terrorist attacks, toxic chemicals, global warming etc. it can eventually leave them feeling stressed as it leaves them a sense of uncertainty if an uncontrollable event will happen to them.
Attitudes & Perception
Depending how a person views the world, it can have a small or large impact on them.
Example:
A teen is upset that they weren’t able to be on the basketball team.
However, by viewing the situation in a positive light, they have more free time for other activities and they can keep on practicing basketball to make it to the team next year.

Major Life Changes
Any major life change can be stressful. Whether if the outcome is pleasant or distressing, certain events can cause stress, such as a wedding, job promotion, financial setbacks, moving into a new environment, or even a loss of a loved one.
Unrealistic Expectations
When someone expects to do everything perfect all the time, they will become even more stressed when things don’t go as expected.
